Color variations and anomalies are part of the beauty and the process of these wearable works of art.
I use 100% natural fabrics. This was shirt made using a ~ brand new ~ tee shirt by Old Navy.
...
Care:
Naturally dyed clothes are free of synthetics and toxins as color is coaxed from natural materials like flowers, bark, and plants and attached by steam process and result in a product that feels really special. This tee shirt is super cool with it's mystical layered colors and design.
Because they are not synthetic- based, the colors can shift and change as they are part of the natural world. Natural dyes are pH sensitive and sensitive to sun exposure.
Natural dye will fade over time which is part of the organic beauty of this traditional dye process. Don't fight it! That said, to prolong the life of your garment, you can care for it by:
Washing infrequently, preferably by hand.
Use cold water and delicate setting. Wash alone or with like colors.
Only use a gently pH-neutral detergent (Woolite, Orvus, or Ecover etc dishsoap). Commercial chemical detergents are formulated to wash out natural dyes! Baking soda can shift color as well.
Dry flat away from the sun. Wash items alone or with like colors.
